Businesses are taking action!
Ministère du Travail, March 2024
Launched in July 2018 by the President of the Republic to encourage businesses to commit to major issues of public interest, particularly those relating to young people, working-class neighbourhoods and equal opportunities, the ‘Companies are committed’ community has been run since April 2022 by a public interest group (GIP) co-founded by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, France Travail and an association of corporate sponsors.

This public-private coalition dedicated to corporate engagement on social, societal and environmental issues, the ‘Les entreprises s’engagent’ community brings together more than 90,000 companies around 10 priority areas (young people, disability, the environment, senior citizens, priority neighbourhoods, the fight against reoffending, sport, vocational high schools, inclusive purchasing and refugees) and 101 departmental clubs.
The public interest group supports companies and managers in taking concrete action and making a commitment in the region by promoting the measures offered by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, such as apprenticeships, mentoring and youth employment contracts, to companies of all sizes, in all sectors and in all regions of France.
