Regional participatory scheme on ecological transition

2021

Régions de France

Régions de France publishes the first collection of participatory schemes undertaken by the Regions in favour of the ecological transition. After the publication of the green budget methodology and the survey on the Regions’ innovative actions for the ecological transition, this new collection illustrates how the Regions bring out projects by involving and associating stakeholders, especially citizens, so that they are the carriers and actors of change and thus make transitions a success. Here is an example from the Centre-Val de Loire region

Context

The « Pro’Jeunes » scheme is designed to support the mobilisation of high school students around the themes of gender equality, solidarity, climate, etc. The scheme aims to support young people in implementing actions within their school such as the organisation of federative events, the organisation of awareness-raising sessions or the creation of clubs. This aid responds to the request of young people, members of the Fédération des Maisons des Lycéens, and follows on from the « 100% Youth for the Climate » scheme which has been supporting your ecological transition projects since 2019.

Objectives

To support the commitment of young people to carry out projects in their schools on themes that are important to them. This aid responds to the request of young people, members of the Fédération des Maisons des Lycéens, and follows on from the « 100% Youth for the Climate » scheme which has been supporting ecological transition projects since 2019.

Implementation procedures

Young people can submit a project throughout the year via the « Our online support » portal. The application is examined and voted on within a maximum of 2 months after submission. To be eligible, young people must submit their project either with a student association (such as Maison des lycéens, ALESA, or other) or through the school, in the case of a student life council for example, which would not have a bank account to receive the grant. In all cases, however, the project must be initiated by the young people and supported by them.
